Hi-Point Warranty Repair – S&W .40

You have probably heard us rant and rave about the warranty on a Hi-Point firearm. Well this is the moment of truth. The .40 S&W that I have had issues with (see this video to see multiple failure to feed issues) was
sent to Hi-Point on Thursday 8-21-14 (Hi-Point uses Iberia Inc. for their .40 repairs which is where the gun went). The shipping label was provided free by BudsGunShop.com (thanks Bud) and the package sent off with my 2 magazines and 1 defective weapon. Sure I could have taken a stab at repairs/tweaks myself, but I thought of this as an opportunity to test Hi-Point’s warranty. They claim to provide a lifetime warranty for the gun, regardless of ownership.

Anyways, much to my joy and amazement, I received the gun on my doorstep on Monday 8-25-14. This seemed unreal fast IMO, but there it was. Now I will be doing a video on the warranty repair, but I will give you a brief overview first. Inside the case was a piece of printed paper that stated what repairs were done to the gun. Repairs included reaming the chamber, polishing/reforming the load ramp and the radius at the top of the ramp, resetting the magazine lip spacing, cleaning the mags, and replacing the slider retainer pin as well as the recoil spring assembly.

Both magazines were then test-fired with multiple ammunition types. The gun was packaged nicely in plastic with chamber plug and everything looks excellent!

I have yet to test the weapon myself, so look out for another video of “Post Warranty Repairs S&W .40”.
